A Glimpse into the Future of Food Security

Since 2012 the Louis Dreyfus Fondation d’Entreprise (LDF), in partnership with the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust, has very generously funded over 80 Scholars from 30 different countries across a range of sectors including health, governance, innovation & technology, international development and environmental sustainability. This event will showcase specifically the work that the Louis Dreyfus alumni have engaged in over the past seven years which provide an insight into the future of food security and sustainable solutions geared towards small and rural communities.

The Louis Dreyfus alumni will be divided in three panels debating the following questions:

PANEL 1

Big Meets Small: how can central banks, central governments, and NGOs support small scale farmers and communities?

Contributors: Antonio Beun (Argentina), Tanvi Agrawal (India) & Leanne (Siying) Zhang (Hong Kong)

PANEL 2

Transformative Education: how can education strengthen the citizenship of rural or developing communities?

Contributors: Simon Wanda (Kenya), Maria Barron (Peru), Sidhya Senani (India)

PANEL 3

Nature and Society: how do we improve the relationship between the different parts of society and society and nature?

Contributors: Lekha Sridhar (India), Cedric Maforimbo (Zimbabwe), Juan Beltran (Colombia)
