Denys worked as a journalist at ‘Ukrainska Pravda’, one of Ukraine's most renowned online media with a track record of explanatory and investigative journalism. In the initial phase of the Russian invasion, he wrote extensively about the massacre in Bucha and the siege of Mariupol. In 2020, he worked as a fact-checker at a think tank ‘Vox Ukraine’ debunking conspiracy theories about the COVID-19 pandemic and checking the data in government economical reports.
Denys graduated from Kyiv Mohyla Academy with BA Hons in Philosophy. In 2019, he studied as an Erasmus+ student at the University of Groningen (the Netherlands) achieving the highest grades in Global Justice, Political Philosophy and Social Anthropology subjects.
Denys aims to obtain top-tier expertise in Oxford to help restore the rule of law and good governance in Ukraine after the warfare ceases. He is particularly interested in electoral reform in Ukraine, e-governance, and international security, in particular Ukraine’s accession to NATO.
