Simon graduated with an MSc in African Studies in 2014. He also has a first class honours degree from Kenyatta University, Kenya. Before becoming a Programme Specialist at the UNESCO Headquarters, Paris France Simon was working as an Associate Project Officer on their Teacher Training in Support of Global Citizenship Education (GCED).
He previously managed various large projects funded by DFiD, which focused on education in Africa with a specific focus on transformative pedagogies in Higher Education in Africa. He has experience in designing, managing, monitoring and evaluating education projects and programmes in partnership with universities, schools and international development agencies. His areas of expertise are online education, education in Africa, education for sustainable development and global citizenship education.
