Sara is deeply committed to merging clinical research with public health. Her undergraduate studies saw her involved in medical research projects spanning cardiovascular event prevention to brain imaging, while her professional work at Sunnybrook Hospital's breast centre clinic allowed her to contribute to numerous breast cancer studies.

As an advocate for education accessibility, Sara previously launched the Brightness Project in Burkina Faso, providing solar lamps to students without electricity. She currently creates student learning and wellness resources at the Chapman Learning Commons. With her BSc in Biology from UBC, and following her time at Oxford, Sara plans to apply her training in chronic disease epidemiology to cancer research in sub-Saharan Africa, with the goal of influencing future public health policies.
