Samia is a resident of Indian Administered Kashmir, where she works with UNICEF as a data and tech consultant to the government, spearheading various interventions in the domain of education. Previously, Samia worked with Indian state governments, economists, multi-laterals, and communities to improve outcomes in the domains of maternal and child health, nutrition, industrial development, and public education. Samia has formal education in engineering, liberal arts, and environmental law. In 2018, she graduated from Ashoka University’s Fellowship programme as a Deutsche Bank Scholar. Samia enjoys exploring means to integrate scientific evidence with evocative ethnographies for inclusive development. At Oxford, Samia wants to explore intersections of data, communities and technology, and their scope to improve the quality of life in conflict-affected regions.
