Jeffrey spent his early career with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) supporting various Sub-Saharan African governments to strengthen health systems towards achieving universal access to HIV/AIDS treatment and care. His focus was on introducing point-of-care diagnostics, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare funding, and improving the supply chain management of medical commodities.

From 2014, he worked for the ELMA Philanthropies, developing and managing grant investments to improve maternal and child health outcomes through improving training and equitable distribution of healthcare workers, infrastructure development and provision of direct clinical services. This experience exposed him to Africa’s new public health challenges, mainly the growing young population and increase in non-communicable diseases. The emergence of universal health coverage provides the opportunity for collaboration between governments, funders and private healthcare providers to improve the healthcare system and deliver quality and affordable healthcare.

He is an alum of the University of Malawi and the Global Health Corps and Aspen New Voices Fellowship Programmes.

Jeffery is currently an Associate Director at The Power of Nutrition, a grant-making Foundation that aims at improving nutrition outcomes among women of reproductive age and children in Asia and Africa. He oversees the programmes and partnerships in Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Indonesia.

He is based in Cambridge, UK.
