Mohsin Launches DocLink

At WHT we support social entrepreneurship and encourage our scholars to create businesses that address social and environmental issues. Our recent alumnus Dr. Mohsin Ali Mustafa, inspired by our Enterprise Challenge, has just launched his new company in Pakistan. It addresses the topical issue of access to medical care and helps bringing the community together, especially in times such as the current pandemic.

Mohsin’s company, DocLink, connects patients with their OWN doctors through a messaging platform. The platform is built to be easy to use and to empower both patients and doctors. Doctors can now take care of their patients minor queries and get remunerated for the additional advice while patients can seek responses to medical concerns that arise outside doctor’s office hours or are of such a nature that they do not warrant a visit to a clinic. We believe that it has a huge potential to digitise the sector and relax the pressure on the Pakistani healthcare system.

In his own words Mohsin credits his experience as a WHT scholar as a source of inspiration and mentorship that led to DocLink.

DocLink was conceived and developed during the course of my year at Oxford. We benefited immensely from the time spent working on it during the Weidenfeld Hoffmann Trust Enterprise Challenge. We were ably supported by our teachers, advisers and fellow students. The mentorship provided by our business advisors was priceless.

My team members during this stage included Alfredo, Ana Lucia, Grace, Pashtoon & Priya. Since graduating from Said Business School in July 2019, I’ve continued to work on DocLink. Over the last few months, we prototyped the app, piloted it in a clinic and have now launched it commercially. Later this year, we will raise a seed round for our venture.
