Luisa is a Colombian free speech attorney, researcher, and activist. She studied law at the Pontifical Xavierian University in Bogota, where she also teaches the class Law and Journalism. Luisa has spent the last six years defending and promoting freedom of expression in Colombia from multiple angles: from journalist protection and the fight against impunity in the crimes against the press, to online free speech and the right to access public information. Luisa has worked at Colombian NGOs and has been a consultant for international organizations focused on free speech. She is interested in creating and advancing public policies that support online and offline free speech in Latin America and is looking to raise awareness among citizens on the importance of journalism for democracies.
