After graduating with a double degree in law and arts, Karan focused on the practical dimensions of constitutional adjudication as a Judicial Clerk to Dr Justice DY Chandrachud at the Indian Supreme Court from 2018-2020. He was a Research Assistant to the Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India and assisted in documenting judicial excess in the economic sphere and in the preparation of the Economic Survey of India 2018. He has also served as a research assistant to two university professors documenting over six decades of filing before the Constitutional Court. He hopes to conceptualize a separation/competition of power concept unique to Indian constitutionalism, return to India as a professor, and eventually join the judiciary. Passionate about equitable access to legal education, he served a three-year term as a mentor for an organization working to increase diversity by increasing access for students from lower socio-economic backgrounds and with visual impairments.
