Giri is head of Department of Medicine at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in the Ministry of Health Malaysia and consultant in Infectious Diseases & General Internal Medicine. He is also a Pioneer member of the Wellcome Trust SouthEast Asia Clinical Trial Research Collaborative site.
He completed his medical degree from University Science Malaysia before obtaining his Membership with the Royal College of Physicians United Kingdom and Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.
Giri is currently based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo.
