Ghislain Irakoze is a social entrepreneur from Rwanda. He leads Wastezon, a cleantech enterprise that leverages AI technology to repurpose electronic materials into low-cost devices for low-income consumers and secondary raw materials for manufacturers. As a Research Fellow, Ghislain has led continental, circular economy policy initiatives with the World Wide Web Foundation and EU Commission. He currently sits on the Global Greengrants Fund’s Next Gen Climate Board and has previously served on the EU Youth Sounding Board.
Ghislain has received recognitions such as the Commonwealth Youth Award and Green Biz 30 Under 30 Honouree award. He holds a BA in International Business and Trade from the African Leadership University. After graduating from MPP at the University of Oxford, Ghislain aspires to initiate transformative policy initiatives on emerging technologies across Africa.
