Carlos Torres is a technical advisor on sustainable finance at the German International Cooperation (GIZ), Mexico. His work focuses on driving capital mobilisation towards sustainable assets and activities, focusing specifically on the implementation of Mexico’s National Sustainable Taxonomy and climate-related risk management. Carlos has a BA in International Relations from the ITAM (Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico).
As an incoming MBA student, he aspires to develop as a leader in mobilising capital for sustainability and gaining a deeper knowledge of finance, market dynamics, and strategy. After graduating from Oxford, Carlos wants to drive investors and credit institutions in Mexico towards incorporating Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria in the decision-making processes of the country’s financial systems
